Paste-like, solvent-based and low-odor fiber-reinforced filler compound based on bitumen.
The sandroplast bitumen filler compound is the perfect choice for repairing and waterproofing defects on roof coverings. This high-quality filler compound impresses with its excellent adhesion on various mineral substrates such as concrete, plaster and masonry as well as on bitumen roofing membranes and coatings. Furthermore, it is ideally suited for fiber cement surfaces and the waterproofing of chimney and wall connections, roof antennas and penetrations.
Please note that the sandroplast bitumen filler compound is not suitable for plastic membranes, polystyrene or hard foam substrates and surfaces that have been impregnated with silicone-containing coatings. Should questions arise in this context, we are happy to provide advice. For optimal adhesion on concrete, masonry and plaster, we recommend using the sandroplast primer. This ensures deep anchoring and thus guarantees outstanding adhesion on the mentioned substrates.
The drying time of the sandroplast bitumen filler compound varies depending on weather and substrate conditions. Under favorable conditions, it can be significantly shortened. Thanks to its excellent adhesion on various surfaces, it ensures a reliable and permanent connection. The product can be applied using different application methods.
The bitumen-based filler compound is applied cold. This solvent-based product is acid-resistant and contains stabilizing additives that prevent settling. The compound develops its full material properties only after complete drying. After curing, the filler compound is waterproof and extremely resistant. It is also both frost and UV resistant and remains permanently stable even under weather influences such as rain.
However, the filler compound is not resistant to solvents, fuels or oils. It is free from harmful substances such as tar, asbestos, phenol and PCB, making it a safe choice for various applications.
In addition to these specific advantages, the modified filler compound is characterized by general properties that underline its effectiveness and versatility. It is suitable not only for closing holes and cracks, but also for leveling unevenness. Furthermore, it compensates for movements and stresses in the substrate through its elasticity.
In summary, the sandroplast bitumen filler compound impresses with its versatility and outstanding material properties. It closes holes and cracks, levels unevenness and compensates for movements in the substrate. After complete drying, it provides waterproof, frost and UV resistant waterproofing. It is also acid-resistant, but not resistant to solvents, fuels or oils.
The substrate must be dry, clean, load-bearing and grease-free, and must not have any loose components or defective concrete and plaster areas.
For optimal adhesion on concrete, masonry and plaster, we recommend using the sandroplast primer. This primer ensures deep anchoring and thus guarantees outstanding adhesion on the mentioned substrates. The primer should be completely dry before applying the filler compound. Since the product contains solvents that can attack plastics and similar materials, it is important to check compatibility with the substrate before processing.
The bitumen filler compound is delivered ready to use and can be applied directly with a spatula, tongue trowel or other suitable trowels. It is important to note that freshly applied layers can be damaged or washed off in heavy rain.
At low temperatures, it is recommended to store the filler compound in a heated room. The optimal processing temperature is between +5 °C and +35 °C. However, it can also be easily processed at lower temperatures.
Apply the material evenly to the substrate and let the edges fade out gently. Layer thicknesses up to 5 mm are possible. For thicker layers, it is recommended to carry out multiple work steps with sufficient time in between to ensure even evaporation of the solvent. Do not use the filler compound on heated or heat-sensitive surfaces. During drying, the coating must be protected from moisture, rain and condensation.
IMPORTANT: For outdoor use only! The processor is obliged to check the suitability and application possibilities for the intended purpose.
Consumption is approximately 1.2 kg/m² per 1 mm layer thickness.
